Brothers David and Ted Assis have developed a line for the fashion conscious young women of today. They discovered the name for their new contemporary collection of chic clothing while in search of their 4-year-old daughters, who were playing hide and seek. After calling out the two girls names together, they realized how perfect GIGI FLORENCE sounded for their new clothing line. Thus the name GIGI FLORENCE was born.

The Assis brothers are continuing an over 30 year old family business in the fashion industry. Their Mony Stores based in New York, have always recognized innovative clothing, which now includes their own line, GIGI FLORENCE.

“It’s about what girls need in the moment,” says David. The line is comprised of tops and dresses, along with an occasional jacket. Standout pieces from their Spring/Summer 09 collection include beautiful cotton and silk blouses, some fitted with puff sleeves while others have ruffle finishes and flowing bodies, bold printed dresses with jeweled details in vibrant colors and stunning halter tops with floral accents. Every piece represents both the feminine and at times edgy side of the seasons must have items. The collection fills a void now in the fashion industry. Each piece is selling less than one hundred dollars, making it affordable for every woman to look stylish. “Fashion is based on change, the line will always be one step ahead of the latest trends,” says Ted. The Assis brothers have teamed up with Eddie Sitt, a well-known production manager with experience working with established international factories. With Sitt’s direction, the line will be recognized as a prominent addition to the women’s market. GIGI FLORENCE can be found in top specialty stores such as Lounge, Patricia Fields, National Jean Company and over 30 other boutiques in the US. You will also get a gimpse of their line in magazine's, TV shows, and celebrities such as Beyonce, Paula Abdul, Kim kardashian, Kate Moss, lil Kim, Serena Williams, Paris hilton, Rhianna and even Michelle Obama herself.
