Flashing lights your in Hollywood.

Ever thought of what life would be if everyone wanted to have a normal car, job and life instead of fame?  I had a moment today when i was working on an upcoming shoot and thought to myself....how many cures would we find as doctors instead of singers. how many Innocent people would not be in jail because most of the population were excellent lawyers (not someone who barely passed the bar exam) instead of actors. How there would be a drastic change in the number of hungry and homeless people because everyone had and education and not some silly dream to become a model or simply be famous.

But then again i thought where would i be? How would i live and thrive without my love for the fashion industry?

And then i realised it is not the dreams that are the outcome of situations, it is the people who strive for them. I truly believe with all my heart that if you work hard for something (whether its 20 years or 20 seconds) and put your best foot forward you will be successful. No one said it would be easy and of course not everyone is going to like you but hey life is life. No one on this planet earth will tell you rich or poor they don't have issues they deal with everyday. some less then others but, the ones who survive and go on are the very ones who struggle and surpass obstacles to accomplish their goals.

I am a realist but i do believe that anything is possible. To all the dream-killers out there....i hope you realise the only person you are hurting is yourself. The very ones you hate will be motivated by your hurtful words to follow their dreams and become successful. you might even end up working for them because  you were too caught up in their dreams that, you had no time for your very own. Never underestimate an individual and go hard or don't do it at all! if it is that important to you, not even the harsh reality of failure couldn't stop you. always be smart and stay blessed guys. I'm sure there is a well deserved round of applause and flashing lights dedicated just for all of you.

Brotherly love.

Brothers David and Ted Assis have developed a line for the fashion conscious young women of today. They discovered the name for their new contemporary collection of chic clothing while in search of their 4-year-old daughters, who were playing hide and seek. After calling out the two girls names together, they realized how perfect GIGI FLORENCE sounded for their new clothing line. Thus the name GIGI FLORENCE was born.

The Assis brothers are continuing an over 30 year old family business in the fashion industry. Their Mony Stores based in New York, have always recognized innovative clothing, which now includes their own line, GIGI FLORENCE.

“It’s about what girls need in the moment,” says David. The line is comprised of tops and dresses, along with an occasional jacket. Standout pieces from their Spring/Summer 09 collection include beautiful cotton and silk blouses, some fitted with puff sleeves while others have ruffle finishes and flowing bodies, bold printed dresses with jeweled details in vibrant colors and stunning halter tops with floral accents. Every piece represents both the feminine and at times edgy side of the seasons must have items. The collection fills a void now in the fashion industry. Each piece is selling less than one hundred dollars, making it affordable for every woman to look stylish. “Fashion is based on change, the line will always be one step ahead of the latest trends,” says Ted. The Assis brothers have teamed up with Eddie Sitt, a well-known production manager with experience working with established international factories. With Sitt’s direction, the line will be recognized as a prominent addition to the women’s market. GIGI FLORENCE can be found in top specialty stores such as Lounge, Patricia Fields, National Jean Company and over 30 other boutiques in the US.
You will also get a gimpse of their line in magazine's, TV shows, and celebrities such as Beyonce, Paula Abdul, Kim kardashian, Kate Moss, lil Kim, Serena Williams, Paris hilton, Rhianna and even Michelle Obama herself.

Lady-Like.

I was inspired by the beautiful Ashley today from www.6inchesandaprayer.com of the classic shoe designer
christian louboutin. In all honesty i feel Christian louboutin shoes are a must have in any woman with great style's closet. From the runway to my closet i feel like a princess when wearing the 4 to 5 inch round-toe, peep toe, booties, and classic pump. I am currently saving for the thigh -high boots. At one point i could not afford them and will not agree with spending more then you have for a label! But if you are a working independent, woman who can afford the luxury of spending once in a blue, i would tell you to at least have one pair. You will get Mobbed with compliments and others will know that you are no game when it comes to your taste and lifestyle. Some things are overrated yes, but when it comes to louboutin's you can never go wrong. as a model and business woman i find myself in and out of these drop- dead, red colored bottoms and they just feel good.

Transformed Beauty.

I have to take a second and thank all of you who support me with my dream to be a fashion model. I really do appreciate all the love from the bottom of my heart. On a day to day basis i am constantly running up and down from castings, interviews, and photo shoots (tweeting during hair and make-up)grinding for this non-stop dream i have been imagining and depicting since as long as i can remember. Sometimes my days are amazing and others i feel disappointed. people don't understand when going through castings they surround you with other beautiful people and pick at what they love and hate about you. During photo shoots i am always working from head-to-toe; It all just seems so easy. It takes a lot of guts and strength as well as knowing your true self and believing in you to survive. I commend all my fellow models all around the world for your courage and amazing drive. Below i have put together some of my favorite photos from past and recent shoots for you guys to see my progress. i love you all, and every voice counts to me. For those of you who wonder if your dreams are possible just take me for example. never stop believing as well as working hard and you will achieve things you never dreamed could happen.

Yours truly,

Enter Galactic.

We all know that Hip hop is not what it used to be but, I think the general population has underestimated that it's not dead it's just evolving to something better. I rest assure that "we ain't seen nothing yet". Kid cudi is a genuine soul, who releases emotions and everyday feelings in a flow most find too relaxing but i appreciate. Cudi's album was dropped September 15Th and was highly anticipated. It was not until i met the man on the moon and seen him perform for myself, for me to come to the conclusion that i support him. He has gone through the same trials and tribulations of being loved and hated by the people, media, as well as by his fellow peers and is not afraid to overcome. The Cleveland now Brooklyn based rapper is not in my top 5 personal favorite but, i respect him and see much room for him to possibly grow to be something amazing. Plus with Kanye West as his predecessor you can't go wrong! We will not go into his constant obsession for weed but, i do feel it does his view in his music justice. At the end of the day, I think there is a mister Solo Dolo in all of us that wants to go Up Up & Away in Pursuit of happiness. Thinking about it Day 'N' Nite knowing, there's a possibility the sky might fall. Go Get his Debut album Man On The Moon: The End Of Day. Sit back, relax, and enjoy.

Ga Ga over you.

I am officially a huge fan of Lady Gaga. She won my Heart over last night with her amazing performance at the MTV VMA awards. I promise myself that she will perform at one of my industry parties whether i have to pay her a house or not! Don't get me wrong she is over the hill crazy out of her mind But, i would prefer that any day over the same bull creep music i have been hearing lately. She is on her own level and there has not been someone so different since Madonna as well as she can play the piano like myself. A designer's dream girl, producers and fellow artist love her, talent like no other... Miss Lady Ga Ga.

Do it for the lady's.

I have to say to my surprise fashion week has been a much unexpected turn around for me. Not only have i had the chance to see most of the collections with amazing seats but, i have been treated with great care when attended these shows with well known upcoming designers. You may perhaps see a glance of me in a shot or a anonymous gesture of fleeting motion captured in the lens; That just might happen to be me running from paparazzi. I wanted to share with those of you who work hard and could not make it to the show what designer i truly feel i will be wearing not only for the label but, because his clothing is actually from the runway to the street "wearable".... one of my favorite's Alexander Wang. Enjoy!

its B-Day.

On september 10th, 2009 Two of the many things i did was attend with CEO Andrew Fennell of www.readconvention.com and Boss Lady from Dr. jays the Sean John Fashion's night out party at the Sean John store located on 41st and 5th, and the Rocawear 10th Anniversary Party, held at the Rocawear Showroom in Times Square. I happened to be right in the mix among some of New York City’s most notable movers and shakers. I met Celebrities such as P. Diddy himself who attended with anna wintour, Dj Envy (hot 97), Sharon carpenter (mtv/bet) Melody Thorton from Pussycat Dolls, Gorilla Zo, actor Brian White, Terrance J, DJ Clue, Laurie Ann Gibson,Teyana Taylor, photographer Derek Blanks, J.Cole Jay z's new artist (who i went to school with my freshman year at st. johns) were in the building. I could name drop for days but the main attraction was the man of the hour, Jay-Z who also stopped through with Beyonce. To say that i was the star of the night would be going on a tangent but I made new connects from v.i.p and who wouldn't want to meet jay on their birthday? It was a day well enjoyed and spent.
